Patrick tripled it @ The Stoop

The ‘santa run’ tradition is given a tough makeover with The Stoop, a steep and muddy fell race around the Bronte Moors above Howarth.

Competitors in the race – organised by local legends Dave and Eileen Woodhead – don everything from Santa hats to elf outfits in this pre-Christmas event.

Calder Valley Fell Runners had a number of outstanding results in the junior races, winning copious amounts of chocolate for their hard work.

Thomas McKee was 1st in the under 8s with new signingSam Anniston in 6th and Ollie Pickens 12th and the ever improving Wynn Standish in 17th. Patrick Casey showed his class taking 1st place in the U10s, James Duffy took 3rd in the U12s and Lucas Greenwood 2nd in the U14s. Ruby McFie and Sylvie Smith ran hard to earn their chocolate as did all the juniors who donned the red and white hoops.

Patrick Casey’s result is of particular significance as he was the first U10 since 2017 to win all three of the Woodhead’s junior race series – the ‘Soreen Stanbury Splash’, ‘Withins Skyline’ and ‘The Stoop.’ The future is certainly looking bright in red and white.
